Journalist graduated from PUC/RS (1995), Valéria Chalegre founded the first regional news agency in Rio Grande do Sul, Informato, at the age of 23, serving practically all daily newspapers in the state. In São Paulo, she created Core Connection, an Internet Content Agency, in 1999, which earned her the cover of Pequenas Empresas, Grande Negócios magazine for the innovation of her approach. She worked as an international correspondent covering health, economy, and technology areas in Brazil for American portals from 1999 to 2002.
Since 2005, she has been working as a screenwriter and executive director at Histórias Incríveis Entretenimento. She has worked on hundreds of commercials for Som Livre and has written and produced a series of short, feature, and medium-length films. She has been in charge of executive production and scripts for numerous projects, such as the 20th edition of Prêmio Açorianos de Música (2011), the TV Globo booth at the London Olympics (2012), the events of the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro (2013), the spectacle "Os Protagonistas" for the reopening of the Beira Rio stadium, the 50th Anniversary Show of TV Globo, the 44th Gramado Film Festival, Gramado Winter Season, among others. For Natal Luz de Gramado, from 2015 to 2018, she worked as a screenwriter for 11 new musical shows, which sold 1 million tickets. In 2019, she wrote the scripts for the Conmebol Copa América Brazil 2019. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she wrote the charitable show Braços Abertos in Rio de Janeiro. In 2022, she created the immersive show Viagem de Natal, which premiered at Mega Domo in Canela, Rio Grande do Sul, an enterprise of which she was a co-creator.
